Hello everyone, welcome back to my YouTube channel and I am CA Azfar Khan so guys today in this video we are going to discuss about scholarship system in CA course. Many people have requested me to discuss scholarship program and how to get scholarship in CA So today we are going to discuss about the same in detail First of all, if you are eligible for this scholarship then this video is going to be very informative for you. But at the same time if you are not eligible, I will still say you please share it with maximum number of people so that it reaches those people who need it and that they can get the full benefit of it
So guys without wasting a time, lets get into the video music So guys, first of all I would like to tell you about what is Scholarship ? So for students eligible under scholarship, institute either provides a discount in fees or provides concession or direct deposits some amount in the bank account of the eligible student. Which can be used by students for their expenses or education Today, in the scholarship that we are going to talk about ICAI directly deposits money in the eligible candidate's Bank Account Now lets talk about the types of scholarship that ICAI provides. So there are 3 types of scholarship. First is Merit based Through name we can understand that you become eligible if you get good marks. Now second is Need Cum Merit Based
For those who need it and have also secured good marks. Now third is Need based. It covers all those students who need it. So now le us talk about the first category, Merit based scholarship. In this scholarship, the eligible candidate will get Rs. 2500 per month. Rs. 2500 will be transferred to eligible candidates bank account. Now which students are eligible here? So here in order to get a scholarship you should get a rank in your CA intermediate. But the Rank should be between 1 to 10. Only then you fall in this category and become eligible for the scholarship. Plus you should be registered in your CA final. Means you can't claim this scholarship before registering in CA final Here Scholarship time period will be 30 months
Or the remaining period of articleship, whichever is less. Which means you will get a scholarship for 30 months but if your articleship is for less than 30 months, you will get scholarship for that many months. Basically you have to apply whichever is less formula and you can count yourself Now let us talk about 2nd Category Need Cum Merit Based scholarship For those who need it and have also got good marks. Here you will get Rs. 2000 per month. Here only those students will be eligible who will be Rank holders in CA intermediate but those who are not covered in Merit based scholarship Those students who although being rank holders were not selected in 1st category, will be selected here. And their Parent's income should be upto Rs.3 lakh
Both your father and mother's combined income should be less than Rs. 3 lakh per year Only then you can apply for this scholarship. Again the time period of articleship will be 30 months or the remaining period of articleship , whichever is less. Now the third category is Need based scholarship for economically weaker students. All those students whose financial condition is not that good will fall in this category. The scholarship amount will be Rs. 1500 per month. Need based scholarship is divided into 2 parts
One for CA intermediate students and another for CA final students. So how will CA intermediate students fall in this category? Firstly they should register for CA intermediate and their Parent's income should be Rs. 3lakh p.a or less Now the scholarship period is going to be 9 months
I.e if you have registered for CA intermediate in this month then you will be eligible for this scholarship from the next month onwards Now these 9 months will get increased by additional 3 months if you complete your basic ITSS course within 9 months of your CA intermediate registration. Additional 3 months will be added more if you clear group one of your CA intermediate within 12 months of your registration. so this scholarship period will increase by 3 months. So here the scholarship period is going to be maximum 15 months and minimum 9 months So now let's talk about CA final category To fall in this category first of all you have to get yourself registered for CA final At the same time your parent's yearly income should be 3 lakh or less than that Here scholarship period is again going to be thirty months
And remaining period of your articleship whichever is lesser This means that if your scholarship period is 30 months but your articleship period is less than 30 months the lesser will be taken into consideration.You can count in that way Yeah so these were the three categories under which if you fall, ICAI deposits some amount in your bank account which you can use for your expenses on education. With this let's proceed with our video Now let us talk about how to apply for this scholarship This whole process is going to be online so you don't have to physically submit anything. For this first of all you have to go on SSP portal i.e self service portal. After that you have to login with your details. After going there you will find my scholarship section. You have to click that
And after that you will find scholarship application form which is to be clicked. After going there a lot of your information will come auto populated you have to just validate it And if you want to change anything in that you will have to go on profile edit form and then change it Only then you will be able to proceed further. Now once you have validated and confirmed your auto-populated information now you have to provide information of your parents income alongwith their PAN card and Aadhar Card details. Now when you will receive the scholarship, you will receive it in your bank account so you also need to fill your bank account details And that bank account detail should be only of yours and not of your parents So for this you will also have to open a bank account for yourself, if you do not have one. Now fill the bank account details and also you have to upload cancelled cheque
Yes you will have to upload cancelled cheque of your bank account and then have to submit it And in case you have registered for scholarship and have any query or need clarification regarding scholarship then you can mail at ssp.helpdesk@icai.in The staff person will revert a mail to you and solve your doubt. Now guys I know you people still have many confusions in your mind so I am going to discuss some very important points here So listen carefully. First of all, scholarship will be given to all those students who fall in merit based and need cum merit based scholarship and there will be no filter here. but if you fall in need based category, then ICAI will impose filter only if application received is greater than the decided number of candidates here are 2 basis
One on the basis of marks The one with more marks will be given more preference and the one with less marks will be given less preference. The second base is going to be your Parent's income So if your parents income is more, then you will be given less preference and if your parents income is less, then you will be given more preference. And students who fall under "Person with disability" category then all those will be granted scholarship by ICAI. And for Need based scholarship, ICAI has decided a ratio that 60% scholarship will go to intermediate students and 40% scholarship will go to CA final students. Now in order to avail Need based or Merit cum based scholarship. you will have to get income certificate and recommendation
So if you are those students, whose articleship has been started then you can get this from your principal. And if your articleship have not started yet, then you can take it from any qualified chartered accountant With this you also have to get Conduct and Attendance certificate which you have to get on half yearly basis after which your next installment will be released So if you are those students, whose articleship has been started then you can take this from your principal And if your articleship still not started, then you can again take this from a qualified chartered accountant. So if you will not get this on half yearly basis i.e April and October then ICAI Will not release your next installment Therefore this needs to be taken on half yearly basis. Now the process of Selection and Grant of scholarship runs on quarterly basis So if you have given application between 16th December and 15th March then it will be granted to you in April month
But if you have applied between 16th March to 15th june then it will be granted in July month And if you have applied between 16th June to 15 September then it will be given in October month And if you applied between 16th September to 15th of December then you will get scholarship in January month Scholarship is released in the beginning of the quarter. So in the beginning of the quarter itself, you will get a scholarship of 3 months So if your scholarship is between April to June then you will get it in the beginning of the April month Now in any case a CA final student joins industrial training then his scholarship will be stopped From the following month after joining the industrial training. So industrial training students will not get this scholarship
Because the industrial training stipend is already very high. And the type of your scholarship will be decided on the basis of your eligibility which you cannot change So guys this is all about scholarship system in CA course.
